Margaritas, Tacos, and Something Called the Sugar Skull Room

Mexican restaurants come in a variety of fashions, but one that jumped to the top of our “favorites” chart most recently was Casa Neta. Located in the heart of Flatiron, this dimly lit Mexican joint not only serves up some delicious Mexican fare, but they also have an overload of tequila options. With more than 140 agave-based spirits, the night quickly became a blur… but we managed to make sure we took some notes prior to stumbling out of there.

Date night. Boys, this is the spot. The food menu is compact, so deciding on what to eat shouldn’t be a spectacle. Not to mention, none of the menu items are above $12, so that’s a big time bonus for your wallet. The expansive cocktail menu is something that could work in your favor. Both of you can get liquored up while chowing down on some chips & guacamole, maybe a few short rib tacos, and who knows where the night will take you.

If you’re all about the drinks and looking for more of a lounge-like feel, stroll downstairs to the Sugar Skull Room. Exposed brick on every wall, a fireplace, a private bar, and some exceptionally comfortable couches will be waiting for you. The Classic or Passion Fruit margaritas are a safe choice, but if you want to expand your taste buds’ horizons a bit, order a Mexican Firing Squad – jalapeno-infused blanco tequila, house grenadine and lime.

Regardless of who you come with or what the purpose is for your visit, one thing is for certain, Casa Neta delivers in both the food and drink departments.
