Making Dining American Again

It might not be in everyone’s favor that Trump was elected president, but he vowed to make America great again, and congruently, a restaurant in NYC is making dining American again. Harding’s, a Flatiron District staple, is the perfect balance of neighborhood and destination restaurant/bar. Upon entry, the patriotic ambiance will teleport you into a dining and drinking experience like no other.

You can kick things off with a few cocktails served up on their handmade, rectangular, black walnut bar. With all the liquors, wines, and beers behind the bar being American-sourced, there’s no non-American choice you can make. We appreciate that; keep things domestic. The Route 75 is a refreshing cocktail comprised of Half Moon gin, passion fruit, and sparkling wine (ladies love it). For all your burly men out there, let your lips taste the sweet nectars of a The Harding’s Smash – your choice of spirit, fresh squeezed lemon, cane sugar, and a hint of mint.

The food is equally as impressive. The Pork Chops were something to write home about (or on this page at least) – a 14 oz. double-cut pork chop with arugula, peach-apricot, and chutney. The burger, or better known as “Our Burger’’ on the menu, is lights out as well. A house-ground angus chuck & short rib blend with American cheese, pickles, and a side of fries. So classic American, it hurts. Finally, the Short Ribs – braised beef ribs in a cabernet sauce with grilled turnips, celery root, and potato puree. Bangin’.
