Rumba – Island-Inspired Cuisine & Rum Bar
Fish tacos. Rum Punch. Duck Empanadas. A variety of specialty margaritas. Dominican Ribs.
If your interest has been ignited, hop in your car, head east on the LIE (that’s route 495 for all you non Long Islanders), get off at the Hamptons Bays exit and head straight to Rumba while summer is still barely hanging around.
If you’re there for dinner, drinks, or to just enjoy the live music from the Jamaican band, this place will mentally transport you to an island in the Caribbean.
Not only is Rumba a place to go to catch up and relax with friends, but your date will appreciate it too. Riding solo? Going alone isn’t a bad idea either. Be selfish and indulge in the “Double Dip” appetizer that consists of guacamole and jalapeno pimento cheese. Sharing would just be criminal.
Although Rumba stays open longer than most seasonal restaurants in eastern Long Island, we guarantee you’ll regret missing the opportunity to check this place out while the weather is warm enough to grab a seat on the outside deck and relish the lovely views of the bay.
The restaurant tends to fill up quick, so if you have a little bit of a wait before you sit down for dinner, grab a cocktail (specifically the “Prickly Pear Martini”) and take it down to the Adirondack chairs on the dock while you wait for your table.
Rumba = No BS.
