NYC’s Most Instagrammable Bar
The East Village is forever transforming. Some people might even say the neighborhood is “finding itself”. We’re still not sure how to label the ‘hood, but one spot that is helping the area trend in a direction of improvement is The VNYL. Located on 3rd Ave (and 14th St.), this lifestyle space coalesces a 1970’s interior with a food and beverage program that will leave you in awe.
The ambiance in this place creates the perfect atmosphere for a date (that you’re serious about), nightlife (where you want to pop bottles) or a private party. While 1970’s furniture may initially sound tacky, The VNYL has figured out a way to make it feel chic and modern. Our early thought was that this place resembled Beauty & Essex in a lot of ways, but after further evaluation (and a few cocktails), we decided this place outdoes the competition.
The food menu is actually smaller than the options for drinks, but honestly, we’re completely okay with that. While you can munch on innovative offerings like Candied Bacon Quinoa Sushi or Out & In Sliders (fried onion, avocado, American cheese, Russian dressing & butter lettuce on a Martin’s roll), the drinks easily take the spotlight. Each cocktail is handcrafted with ingredients you probably wouldn’t even recognize. Milk Punch drinks like Lynott’s Libation (Singhani, Macchu Pisco, St. Germain, green & red grapes, green apple, lemon, orange, anise, vanilla, cinnamon, Yerba Matte, and Lapsang Souchong Demerara milk) will leave you saying to yourself, “What the hell are all these ingredients and how the f*$@ did they figure out that this combination would taste so good?” Needless to say, there are about 20 drinks of this fashion, and not one of them lack creativity or flavor.
As an added bonus to all of this, The VNYL has a swing in their Champagne Room. It hangs from the ceiling and it resembles a sex swing. It’s probably NYC’s Most popular swing on Instagram. If you don’t want to spoil yourself with a delicious meal, do yourself the courtesy of grabbing a cocktail and going for a leisurely ride on the swing.
